More crew needed for Charles Henry Ashley!

It was lovely to see Charles Henry Ashley sailing in Cemaes Bay last Thursday – and thank you to everyone who has kindly shared their photographs.

She was sailed across the bay into Porth Yr Ogof where she was originally stationed from 1907-1932, and you can still see evidence there of the old slipway from which she was launched.

We are hoping to take CHA out again on August 5th and August 8th but we really need more crew to sign up. It’s always dependent on the weather, but we are searching for active and experienced sailors to come and join us.
We have a brilliant membership group – but not all of us are now physically able to take part in the sailing and rowing of Charles Henry Ashley. We need more people to step up and help to keep this traditional and historic Cemaes vessel on the water.

Finally, it is with great sadness that we heard of the recent and sudden  death of Bob Trueman, who enjoyed many adventures with Cemaes Boat Club over the years. We send our sincere condolences to his family.
